Delhi to Launch Massive Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls from June 30 in Large-Scale Door-to-Door Verification Drive
Delhi will launch a Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls from June 30 to July 29, involving door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers. The Election Commission aims to ensure accurate voter data, updated records, and inclusion of eligible citizens using ECINET app-based verification and structured field operations across the capital.
The Election Commission of India has initiated this Special Intensive Revision to systematically verify and update voter information. Under this drive, government officials will visit households to check and validate all details recorded in the electoral rolls. The primary objective is to eliminate errors and ensure that the voter list remains fully accurate and up to date. The process will also include the inclusion of new eligible voters as well as those who were previously left out.
To execute this large-scale verification exercise, approximately 13,000 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been deployed across Delhi, supported by around 1,300 supervisors. In addition, nearly 30,000 Booth Level Agents have been trained to assist in the process, ensuring smooth and efficient coverage throughout the campaign period.
Officials have emphasized that checking one’s details in the previous SIR records can help voters identify their current electoral status, including assembly constituency number and polling station details. This information is crucial for accurately filling out the enumeration forms provided by BLOs during the verification process, thereby reducing the chances of errors in voter registration.
Citizens will not need to visit any government office or polling station to verify their records. The Election Commission has made the process accessible through the ECINET mobile application, which can be downloaded from official app stores. After installation, users are required to log in using their mobile number and a one-time password (OTP).
Once logged in, users can access the option labeled “Search your Name in Last SIR” to retrieve their electoral details. They may search using their own name or the names of their parents or grandparents who were previously registered voters. After entering the required information, users can view their complete electoral details, including assembly constituency number, polling station, and part serial number. Citizens are advised to carefully note and securely store this information for future use during the revision process.
This extensive revision exercise is expected to significantly strengthen the integrity of the electoral system by ensuring that voter rolls are precise, updated, and free from discrepancies.
